Ben Vereen Nominated for NAACP Image Award

Ben Vereen is nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special at the 40th ANNUAL NAACP IMAGE AWARDS for his captivating performance in the Hallmark Channel’s Accidental Friendship. Actors nominated include: Andre Braugher for A&E’s Andromeda Strain, Charles S. Dutton for Lifetime’s Racing for Time and Sean “Puffy” Combs and Sean Patrick Thomas for Raisin in the Sun. 

Watch the 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards at 8pm on FOX February 12th.

    HI Ben!

    It’s Jennifer Jones from Eastern Michigan University! Remember that show we did? “Soaring on Black Wings”? This is a wonderful honor that you’re nominated for! You deserve the win and I know you’ll get it. I mean… Sean Combs?! What stunt casting!

    I was recently showing my high school theatre class I teach “Pippin” and you completely blew them away! (Don’t worry, I didn’t show them the sex/drugs scenes.) As a class with a large portion of African Americans, they also said that they appreciated being represented up onstage with someone like you. (How about that NAACP?!) It was kind of nice to say, “Yeah, I’ve worked with him and he’s the most gracious man you’d ever meet.” Thank you for always being a wonderful mentor to me.

    I hope you stop by Detroit again soon! I’d love to see you!
